The Presidential Lottery

I'm not a big Fan of Politics. I think it just causes problems between Friends, Family. and just people in general. It is an election year, and this is November. The first Tuesday is coming up and we will all go to our appointed polls to vote....To vote for who? Someone who spent Millions to win. So much for Free Elections. How many really Great people are out there who would serve their Country better than anyone, but can't because they have no money? Lets face it, the Presidency is bought and sold every 4 years...That's not true you say?... Sure we vote of our own free will, but we can only vote for the person who's running, and if you have enough money your the one who's running.

What if we had a Lottery every 4 years. Every Man and Women, between the ages of 30 and 70 would be put onto a computer list and someones name would be drawn to be President. No Money spent, No political T.V. ads, and No propaganda flyers in the mail.. Just John Q. Public to come forth and serve His/Her Country for the next four years.. Of coarse a background check would be made. We wouldn't want a serial killer running the country, but if an average man or woman was picked, how bad could it be.. Democrat or Republican. We would except them. They would be closer to the average person than a Millionaire who has an agenda with other Millionaires with an agenda. They probably wouldn't want to go to war. I wouldn't. Would you?. Who wants all those deaths on your conscience.What about bribes, and Lobbyist?... Well we have that now, so that wouldn't matter. We put up with it anyway...Right?...Money talks.Unfortunately, we all listen. I guess my point is, every time we elect a new president, we aren't ever really sure of what were going to get, and a Presidential Lottery wouldn't be any different.
